Job Title: Music Publicist  (North American contractor role – remote)

Role Overview:

This contractor role is for a highly motivated and proactive self-starter with 5 years PR experience in the music industry, specifically with B2B Music PR experience (Music Technology experience is a plus). Skills include strong media relations and strategic PR storytelling capabilities. We’re looking for a music publicist who is obsessed with creating, pitching and placing media stories. 

The role will include working closely with the senior management team as well as clients on specific day-to-day deliverables to implement PR campaigns. You will be responsible for developing stand-out content and story ideas that capture media attention. Creative thinking, organization, a great personality, and strong writing skills are a must!

Key Responsibilities:

Your role would include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Music PR: Support in planning and implementing dynamic PR campaigns across the B2B and B2C music space. You are deeply familiar with the industry and can come up with creative story ideas that can connect our music clients to what journalists want to write about
  • Results: Assist in researching and securing suitable venues for events. Coordinate logistics related to venue setup, audiovisual equipment, catering, and accommodations.
  • Time Management:You are a trained pro and know how to self manage to make things happen ahead of schedule
  • Creativity: Utilize knowledge of the media to recognize media angles and pitch media outlets successfully, while crafting engaging copy
  • Excellent Writing Skills: Draft pitches and other written press materials, including press kits, client bio’s, and speaking points.
  • Exceptional Service: Creating moments of “Wow” experiences for the client. You make them question how they ever lived without you in their life!
  • Events: Occasionally, if needed, coordinate and execute press trips, press exclusive experiences, red carpets, event/location launches, and in-person client x media interviews. Attend and support on-site events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or relevant certificate
  • 5 years of experience in Public Relations, specifically in Music.

Role:

  • Part-time, contractor. 5-10 hours a week to start. Potential to work on more projects based on strong results.
