How we really feel about threads

If you work in social media or your brand has a strong social media presence, then a few weeks ago you probably broke a sweat during the launch of Instagram Threads, immediately hustled to connect your existing Instagram account to this new platform, and watched Twitter 2.0 happen without a second thought. Well, be glad you did because this app is here to stay (we hope) and it’s one worth downloading.

So what have we learned in this short period?

👀 We are seeing an unfiltered look at many brands/individuals.

✨ Users don’t feel pressured about what they are posting. Threads is a breath of fresh air.

🤝 There are lots of opportunities to tap into “Threads only” benefits for customers/audiences as followings are still growing (i.e. discounts, giveaways).

📈 Advantage: You don’t need to build a following from scratch.

✍️ Users are treating Threads as a personal journal, allowing us to understand brands on a more unique level.

🤳 Brands can easily engage with a variety of users right now as there isn’t a following/discover page.

While we will admit, nobody really has a strong grasp on what exactly the strategy should be for brands on Threads yet, it has been so fun to experiment with different posting styles, and connect with audiences/consumers in a more intimate and unpolished way. Take it from us, out of all the recent social media updates, we have been most excited for Threads (and that says a lot)!
